Merry Christmas

December Newsletter

Welcome to our last newsletter of 2018.  We have had an excellent end to the year.  We welcomed 4 new walkers, Karolyn, Nick, Christine and Jane who we will hopefully see in 2019.

We headed up to the Christmas Tree on Dove Crag exactly 1 year after our first official Strolls with Poles walk.  It was an excellent walk with mulled wine, mince pies, biscuits, lemon drizzle cake and more.

We have walks planned to the end of May 2019, these will soon all be on the website.  Keep checking in to the website to see what we have coming up in 2019 https://www.strollswithpoles.com/shop/

Thank you so much for continuing to support Strolls with Poles and we look forward to a fantastic 2019.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR.

How did November/December go?

We welcomed Karolyn, Nick, Jane and Christine who joined us for a Beginners Training Session.

We visited Ponteland for our longest walk of the year.  Read the blog at https://www.strollswithpoles.com/ponteland-24th-november-2018/

The Christmas walk was well attended and everyone had a fantastic time.

During November and December we visited, as always, our local tearooms and cafes.  Supporting local businesses is very important to us and the tearooms have told us that they very much appreciate our custom.

If you would like to read more about any of our walks there are blogs for all of them on the website https://www.strollswithpoles.com/blog/

Booking onto walks

If you have any problems booking onto our walks via the website or paying for walks, please let us know.

Please may we remind you that you must book onto all walks via the website or calling me direct, in advance of the walk, and arrange payment via bank transfer or cheque. This ensures that I know exactly how many will be attending and can ensure that we have adequate volunteer cover.

With the days being shorter we have changed the start time of the walks to 10 am to make the most of the daylight. We will be starting on time, sorry we won't be able to wait for latecomers as others will get chilly waiting. If there is an issue, please contact me by phone or text on 07443495622.

Thank you
Julie

Who are Strolls With Poles?

Donna is the latest walker to feature in our Newsletter.  Here is her story:
I am 50 plus lady who started walking for fun about 5 years ago to lose weight and get fit, then 18 month ago I started Nordic walking. I find using Nordic poles is so much easier on my knee joints and I can walk further and faster Nordic walking. I love going out with Strolls with Poles because they are a very friendly group and full of fun. Julie and Martin pick lovely routes and I don't need to navigate or map read so can enjoy the walk and the chat without the worry of getting lost and there is always a nice coffee shop at the end to relax in.
