Power Talks

So I sat down to ask myself: there is space on a stage for me to go up and say something, what do I really want to say? Now I'm researching and questioning oppressive and authoritarian culture and use of power in comparison to nurturing and caring.

A song to future generations

On Saturday I'm performing through zoom in an event dedicated to young teenage girls in Madrid, to empower them with leadership skills and reflect around current global trends. I have decided to write a song for the event to shine light and critique on authoritarian culture and reflect on how to write a new narrative that we can follow towards a healthier lifestyle.

Above you can listen to a first raw demo of the song "La Semilla (del cuidado)". I feel a bit embarrassed to share it at this stage as I'm still learning how to pronounce all the Spanish words in a fast pace, but I think it's interesting for you to be part of the journey. Feel free to share thoughts on it.

The Unmutables - my Amsterdam band

Every last Sunday each month I am performing with a band we call "the unmutables" at the Mezrab live stream "lock down and listen". I've been part of this group for half a year now and May is going to be the last month I participate since I'm moving away from Amsterdam at the end of the month.

Every new episode has its own theme and for each one I have challenged myself to write a new song. Last month I wrote a song called "the Sorcerer" for the theme "Oh My God, Oh Em Gee". Check video below to hear the song.
Next livestream has the theme "shameless sex" and will take place the 30th of May, here's the event: https://fb.me/e/29bnDlvcT

We make our journey in the company of others

I send my gratitude to Tami, Pleun, Svante, mum and dad and all the others of you that are there supporting when life is heavier to face. We need each others support and life is simply so much richer when we're traveling together. I also want to give my biggest and warmest birthday wishes to my dear sister who's celebrating this week!!

Until next Wednesday,
Hugs and love, Erik
