CALL TO ACTION— CITY COUNCIL MEETING ATTENDANCE TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR TWO IMPORTANT AGENDA ITEMS
There are two important items on tomorrow’s Tuesday, April 26 Prescott City Council Meeting Agendas!
1. Council Study Session 1PM-3PM
The first agenda item is a presentation by the recently featured citizen group PROTECT Campaign (Planning for the Resilience of Our Towns, Environment, Climate and Tourism)
The campaign organizers are asking for citizens to join in a 12:30pm rally at city hall in support of the work done by PROTECT and the city toward securing at Climate Risk Assessment for the Quad Cities. The group will move into the city council chambers for the presentation at 1:00pm.
The members of the PROTECT Campaign will make a formal presentation to the council and ask them to confirm their support and intent to join with our neighboring communities to support the initiation of a Climate Risk Assessment as early as this summer.
2. Council Voting Session from 3-5 PM
The last two items on the regular agenda involve the proposed new water policy.
The first is Item K, a resolution to approve a Water Budget for residential and non-residential uses. This could be followed by a vote on the new Water Policy as a whole.
Mayor Phil Goode, Mayor Pro Tem Cathey Rusing, the Water Issues Subcommittee and Staff, with input from the public, have worked hard to craft a policy that better protects the sustainability of our water supply and the flow of the Upper Verde River. This is critical to the future of our water.
