Hello <<First Name>>, what now?

You know us as the defenders of the Granite Dells.

It took five years of intense public pressure to accomplish our initial conservation goal of protecting the heart of the Granite Dells from the immediate threat of destruction posed by proposed development.

It didn't take long to understand that this dream could never be realized without a change in the culture and values of our elected decision-makers.

We needed leaders that would not only champion open space conservation, but also listen to citizen concerns about poorly managed growth & development, quality of life, transparency in decision making, and sustainable water management.

The public's resounding agreement was unquestionable in the landslide victories of the four Save the Dells-endorsed Prescott city council candidates in 2019 and 2021.

After more than half a decade in the game, it's become clear that the job isn't finished with the completion of the Arizona Eco Development (AED) Annexation, or even with the much-needed permanent protection of a Granite Dells Regional Park and Preserve.

Across the region, the crucial work must continue to pivot the conversation from “politics as usual” to addressing the above-mentioned concerns our communities have for our future.

We’ve seen just how interconnected these issues are. It's time to formally recognize our expanded focus-- Our Greater Mission-- to address the impacts of these critical issues not only on the Granite Dells, but throughout the Quad Cities region as a whole.

What now, you ask? We're just getting started.

Our Greater Mission, Vision, and Goals
A commitment to ensuring that the concerns, values, and wishes of the public are heard and reflected in critical community decision-making processes has been central to Save the Dells' work since day one.

Our newly updated mission and vision statements are an extension of this ethos, applied beyond the realm of open space conservation to include the priority community issues of water conservation, growth and development, local elections, and regional cooperation.

We've also formally expanded our organizational goals to include things like advocating for wise, science-informed water management policies, supporting intentional and high quality growth strategies, facilitating regional cooperation and group collaborations, and so much more!
