Dear Friends,

Season greetings to all of you!  What a year 2020 has been, and as it ends most of us are moving into Tier 4 lockdown.  It feels like we have gone back to where we were earlier in the year in March!  We will have to see what 2021 will bring.

With the changes in many people's plans for Christmas and New Year, we felt it important to provide some continuity and stability in our online Church Services.  So we will continue as normal on Friday Night, Saturday and Monday. Nothing is cancelled, all will continue!  You can see the calendar of events below under "GYL Church Services and Events".  All are welcome and will be made welcome.

The words of the carol "Silent Night" by Joseph Mohr say,
"Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
'Round yon virgin Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace"

We know that Jesus was not born at this time of year, but that should not detract from giving us the opportunity to remember the wonder of the birth of Jesus. On that night, there was no room for the family in any inn or guest house, and an animal's feeding trough was used for Jesus' first place of rest. Yet there was heavenly peace, not based on circumstances, but on the presence of God in Jesus.  I pray that same heavenly peace is with each one of you this season.

Blessings to you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

- Pastor Mark Borrett
