Dear Friends,

Psalm 23 is probably the best know of the 150 Psalms in the Bible. Even if you rarely open the Bible (how about reading some Psalms), you probably know a few words of Psalm 23. Below is the New Living Translation of it, which uses main and plain language.

A Psalm of David
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows;
He leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Holy Bible: New Living Translation (Psalm 23)

Look at the use of personal pronouns, the "me, myself and I" of Psalm 23. There are a total of 17 in most translations. These are affirmations of faith, and also promises from the Lord. Now, how about replacing the personal pronouns with your name?

You may already know that Pastor Michael Walker is in hospital after a mild heart attack. I did visit him, and he was sitting up and recovering well. He is undergoing some tests. We are all hoping and praying that he will be back home very soon. Please also remember Pearl in your prayers.

This Saturday/Sabbath, we meet again at the Lowestoft Church building for Adult, Children and Teen Sabbath Schools, starting at 10am. That is followed by our Worship Service at 11.15am. Social distancing will be in place and masks are required. The Worship Service will also be on Zoom and Facebook. We look forward to Helen and Janna Wilkinson singing the hymns for us.  There will be a children's story. Pastor Mark will give the final message in the series on the Feasts of the Lord found in Leviticus 23. The final message is titled "Come Thirsty" and It looks at the Feast of Tabernacles.

Be Blessed,

Pastor Mark
