Dear Friends,

I start with sad news. Eric Baker fell asleep in the Lord early Thursday morning at the grand age of 98. We send our deepest sympathy to his wife, Jean, and to his daughter, Margaret. Eric was a long time member of Lowestoft Church, much loved by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his infectious grin, his warm handshake, his liking for mints, often giving packets of them away, and most of all for his love for the Lord. We can all take comfort in the hope of the Day of the Lord, when Jesus will come again for His people. We are encouraged to comfort one another with such thoughts and words (1 Thessalonians 4:18).

The cover of the latest Messenger is in the large image above. You can click on the image to read it. Pastor David Neal, the Editor, writes "I have looked at this edition’s front cover picture of Alin and Izabela with Pastor Salcianu, their pastor, at least 100 times. And every time I look, something inside me says, ‘Stay focused! Don’t get distracted!’ because this is what the church was called to do, is to do, and must always do until Christ returns – help humankind find new life in Christ". I could not agree more!

The Messenger contains two articles from the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft Church District. Many thanks to Pastor Michael Walker for writing and submitting them. The first article is found on Page 7 and is on the recent baptisms of Kiala dos Santos and Stephen Cruickshank. The picture that is included in the article is of Kiala dos Santos with his two children; Pastor Mark Borrett; and Stephen Cruickshank with his three children.

The second article, found on page 17, is titled "Sweet Singers in Israel" and features Helen and Janna Wilkinson. We have been very thankful for their leading in our congregational singing, especially when singing was only allowed from the front. I encourage you to take the time to look through the Messenger.  In a subsequent edition we are hoping to see an article on our recent Vacation Bible School at the Great Yarmouth Church.

This Saturday/Sabbath both the Great Yarmouth church building and the Lowestoft church building, are open for Sabbath School and our weekly Worship Service!  The Worship Service is at 11.15am, and will follow Sabbath School which starts at 10am. Please note that the Teen and Children Sabbath Schools are at Great Yarmouth. Zoom and Facebook will be live-streamed from the Great Yarmouth Church.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,

Pastor Mark
