Dear Friends,

Knowing God is emphasised over and over again in the Bible. The Old Testament prophet Hosea writes, "Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know Him" (Hosea 6:3 NLT).  A different translation reads "Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord” (ESV). In theology this is called "the already and the not yet". We find it so often in the Bible. The emphasis in this verse is on knowing the Lord in the present, and also pressing on to more fully know the Lord. We are called to persevere, and to grow in the knowledge of God little by little.

In Hosea 6:6 it also says "For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings" (NKJV). Knowing God is our chief purpose in life. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Hosea links suck knowledge with being merciful. A true knowledge of God in a person will be reflected in a merciful disposition. Because our Lord God is one who abounds in mercy (Psalms 103:8). We see that most clearly demonstrated in Jesus at the cross where mercy abounded with His sacrifice and offering of His own body for us. Meditate a while on that, and press on to know God in Jesus.
This Saturday/Sabbath both the Great Yarmouth church building and the Lowestoft church building, are open for Sabbath School and our weekly Worship Service!  The Worship Service is at 11.15am, and will follow Sabbath School which starts at 10am. Please note that the Teen and Children Sabbath Schools are at Great Yarmouth. Zoom and Facebook will also be live-streamed from the Great Yarmouth Church.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,

Pastor Mark
