Dear Friends,
It is with sadness that we share that Thelma Thurtle passed away this week. She was a long time faithful member of the Great Yarmouth Seventh-day Adventist Church. She will be missed! She is survived by her son Andy, who used to bring Thelma to church each week. She is also survived by a daughter who lives outside of the area. Please keep the whole extended family in your prayers.
This week our Church Boards met and agreed the planned dates to resume at our church buildings. This is based on the Government dates for the easing of lockdown rules, and so subject to any change in those dates. With that said there is much hope and great excitement about finally resuming in our church buildings after more than 12 months! It is also our intention to keep Zoom and Facebook live-streaming given the opportunity given for people to join who otherwise are unable. The planned dates are,
- From May 17th, Monday Night resumes at Great Yarmouth.
- From May 22nd, Saturday/Sabbath resumes at Lowestoft.
- From June 26th, Saturday/Sabbath resumes at Great Yarmouth.
The bible verses in the image above describe the Lord God as our sun and a shield. That conveys the sense of God's guidance and protection for us each day. The verses continue by saying that the Lord God gives grace and glory, and He withholds no good thing from those who do what is right and trust in Him. The sense here is of the Lord's covenant love and grace to us through Jesus because of His finished work on the cross, as we trust and remain in Him. Ultimately the Lord God will give us glory, when we finally see Him face to face. Not yet, but in due time. As one author puts it "Today we shall receive sustaining, strengthening, sanctifying, satisfying grace. He has given daily grace until now, and as for the future, that grace is still sufficient. If we have but little grace, the fault must lie in ourselves; for the Lord is not destitute, neither is he slow to bestow it in much abundance".
Blessings to you all,
Pastor Mark
