Dear Friends,

Greetings from West Runton in Norfolk where Norma and I are spending a few days. After a couple of days of rain the weather has finally improved and the hikers are out in force. I pray you all get some time to relax with family and friends this Bank Holiday weekend.

Faith, love and hope are common themes in the Apostle Paul's letters in the New Testament of the Bible.  1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NKJV) says "But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation". This continues the Pauline theme of being called out from darkness into light. Therefore we need to be ready and not be surprised, or embarrassed, by that ultimate day, when Christ returns. Paul highlights being ready in terms of faith, love and hope. He compares faith and love to putting on a breastplate, and hope to putting on a helmet. The message is clear. This is not the time for spiritual sleepiness or indifference. The exact opposite is true. We need to be fully awake, to be watching, and be sober minded. The picture is of a soldier dressed in uniform and ready for war. The uniform for the follower of Jesus is faith, love and hope. Those three words express the spiritual DNA of a follower of Jesus. The exhortation is to put them on as they are not naturally within us, they are a gift from God.

We have now returned to the Lowestoft Church Building. Sabbath School will be at 10am. That will be followed by our Worship Service at 11.15am. The Worship Service will also be on Zoom and Facebook. We do want to encourage you to attend in person. Social distancing will be in place and masks are required.  Pastor Walker will be giving the message this Sabbath.

The South England Conference Camp Meeting 2021 starts this coming Monday. If you click on the poster further down in this eNewsletter you will be taken to a page with details for all the various programs for all ages. There is something for everyone.
Be Blessed,

Pastor Mark
