Romans 16:20 (NKJV) says "The God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly". The words on the image above are taken from Romans 16:20 with a slightly different translation (ESV) of the greek, but the same meaning. The letter that contains these words from the Apostle Paul to the small Christian community in Rome is dated to around AD 55/6, some years before Paul eventually travelled to Rome as a prisoner. That is also before the persecution of Rome Christians under Nero after the great fire in Rome of AD 64. How Paul's words must have echoed in the ears of the faithful during those difficult days, "and the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly". We will look at this more on Saturday/Sabbath during our Family Service at 11.15am on Zoom and Facebook, as part of the sermon series, "Promise Maker, Promise Keeper". No matter what we face, we can be sure that those who have chosen to follow Jesus as their personal saviour will eventually be victorious for eternity because Jesus has been victorious.
Tonight (Friday) at 8pm we will conclude the final episode of the Mark Finley series, "Three Cosmic Messages". We will also have a second look at it on Monday at 7.30pm. Next Friday at 8pm we will start a new six part series on the Book of Daniel. Pastor Gary Kent from Australia will lead out in a 6-part weekly series exploring the historical sections of the book of Daniel. Also starting Monday, January 25th at 7.30pm, we will begin a new series on the Apostle Peter's First Letter in the New Testament, believed to have been written from Rome, towards the end of his ministry. All events will be shown in our normal Zoom room.
