Highlights of what's happening in the Women of Woodworking Community:

The British Columbia Institute of Technology is having an online info session for Women in Woodworking: Building Our Own Seat at the Table on March 18 to help attendees connect with other women in woodworking.

Quercus Magazine featured Jennifer Bower of @jbowerengraving and her daughter Maylin on their recent cover.

The Florida School of Woodwork recently raised $7,714 through an instagram raffle to establish the Tabitha Babbitt Scholarship to help women learn the craft of woodwork.

The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship's current exhibition in the Messler Gallery, "Out of Bounds - The Art of Croquet" is on view until January 6, 2021. Beth Ireland will be teaching their eight-week Turning Intensive from January 11 - March 5, 2021. Scholarships are available.

Dana Snyder of HerDesk joined us for a Women of Woodworking Wednesday live interview in October, however Instagram glitched and deleted the recording. Be sure to check out Dana's innovative approach to working from home for women, made in collaboration with maker April Wilkerson of @wilkers_dos.
Women of Woodworking Wednesday Live with Carlie Steiner
Former D.C. restauranteur Carlie Steiner stopped by Women of Woodworking Wednesday Live this month as she explores a new passion with woodworking. Be sure to listen to her motivational and empowering outlook as a small business owner managing the ever-changing landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic. Carlie is also the founder of virtual cocktail course service SECO Cocktails, and her custom cutting boards can be purchased from the site as well. Photography Credit: Farrah Skeiky, @reallyfarrah

A note from the editor...

Thank you for your continued support of the Women of Woodworking project! As you can see it's been a busy fall and 2021 is looking to be filled with many more interviews and content from our community, for our community.

I am very excited about what's in store, including the Women of Woodworking online store! It'll be small but cheerful, and a great way to support the project.

I'd also love to collaborate with you all on merch and other ideas. If you're interested please get in touch!

This project is all about you and our dynamic woodworking community. To get involved, DM me, or tag @WomenOfWoodworking or #womenofwoodworking in your posts. To be included in the newsletter, send in your photos, events, articles, comments, and anything exciting going on in the community or in your shop that you'd like to share.

Please send anything you'd like included in the next newsletter by January 10. Have a safe, happy, masked and socially distant holiday season, and best wishes for a better and brighter 2021 for everyone.

Many thanks,

Katie Thompson
