Year 2 visit War Memorial

In Year 2 we are learning about the importance of Remembrance Day and why and how it is celebrated. We made our own poppies to wear at our Remembrance Service, visited the Sevenoaks War Memorial and are designing a War Memorial of our own.

ISEB Pre-test complete!

Well done to those in Year 6 who took the ISEB Pre-test this week. The boys have worked so hard in preparation for these tests. The ISEB Pre-test is for independent schools' deferred entry for boys who will move onto their senior schools after Year 8. A big well done to all these boys.

Year 7 & 8 Filming

Year 7 and the Year 8 drama scholars had a great time in the woods on Friday filming for their upcoming film project 'Us & Them'. The boys can't wait to share it with their parents at the film premiere on Friday 9th December.

Christmas Jumper and Bake Sale

Thank you to our Solefield Parents' Association for a brilliant Christmas Jumper and Cake Sale last Friday. The boys (and parents) had the best time! All proceeds are going towards our 'Buy our bus' campaign to enable us to have a new minibus for our boys. Charlie in the movie 'Matilda the Musical'

We caught up with our very own Charlie B, 6F who appears in the new movie, 'Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical', which is being released in cinemas today!

* Did you meet any famous people? No, I didn’t but my friend who I was in the movie with, got to meet Emma Thompson.

* How did you get this role in Matilda? I have an agent and they put me forward for an audition. As I do a lot of ballet and dancing, I got the job!

* Tell us about the actual filming, what was it like? It took six weeks. The main characters were filming for a year. We filmed in a massive warehouse which was all painted yellow. It was very strange.

* Did you get paid? I did, but not very much! I did get a free lunch each day though.

What an experience Charlie. We can't wait to see it!

Come and join our Solefield Singers

We invite parents and friends of Solefield to join our 'one off' parent and staff choir. The proposed rehearsal would take place 7-9pm on Wednesday 7th December in the Music school with a view to singing at our school Carol service on Wednesday 14th December, 11am.

I would like to work on learning the congregational carols in 4 parts plus descants. We will give out sheet music and links to the recordings from the rehearsal to help people prepare. 

If you are interested in coming along, please let me know r.fenning@solefieldschool.org as the event will only take place if there is sufficient interest.

Please pass this information on to any ‘friends of Solefield’ who might be interested: ex parents, ex staff, old boys etc.

Our Christmas Stay & Play 

We are looking forward to a 'special visitor' coming to our next Christmas themed Stay & Play on 2nd December. For parents and carers with preschool aged children. Bookings can be made on the link below. Please invite other parents and carers outside the Solefield community, who are very welcome.

December Holiday Camps

We have six holiday camps running over the Christmas Break from 15th-21st December. Camps are open to all in the Solefield Community including friends and family members. Alumni Launch Event Bookings Now Open

Our official 75th Alumni Anniversary launch event is now open for bookings. Alumni are welcome back to Solefield School on Saturday 4th February 2023, 6pm for our Art Exhibition with Wine & Cheese, taking in the talent of Solefield boys' showcasing their art, with a piece from every pupil in the school. The event is for Old Boys, former Parents, former Teachers and Staff. Please share with any Alumni you know. Our current parents will have their own Art Exhibition viewing prior to this event on Friday 3rd February.
