World Mental Health Day

On Monday, it was World Mental Health Day, which is an opportunity to talk about the importance of looking after our wellbeing and discuss mental health without stigma.

Boys at Solefield have been doing different activities all week to celebrate. All year groups have been using the Zones of Regulation to check in with their teachers and express their feelings.

Year 3 were using positive affirmation cards to get into a good frame of mind and used it as a mantra for the day. They also put it on their form light box to remind them.

Year 4 have been doing mindful colouring in their wellbeing lessons and year 8 have created some fantastic poems to describe different emotions.

Reception Welly Walk in Knole

Reception boys had a wonderful welly walk in Knole Park on Wednesday morning. The boys loved the experience from beginning to end!

They climbed, ran and explored their way around the park with huge smiles on their faces. The minibus was a highlight alongside the dragon shaped cookies they ate on a log in the woods.

It was a fabulous morning and one they can’t wait to repeat very soon.

Charity Donation from the Library

The Reading Reps are donating spare copies of books in good condition to the Children's Book Project.  This is a nationwide charity which distributes books via selected schools to children who need them.   The Reading Reps are thinking of how the whole Solefield community could help with this and are planning some Book Swap activities next term. This is a real example of our pupils displaying our school values: Value yourself. Value others. Value our world.

Congratulations Miss Elphinstone and Mr Cramp

We wish Mr Cramp and Miss Elphinstone a wonderful day and married life together as they celebrate their wedding in Italy over the half term break. We presented a special cuddly 'Charlie' to them during our assembly, as a gift from the whole school.

Miss Elphinstone will return as Mrs Cramp after the break and so her form will be 1C. Many congratulations to them both (and Charlie, of course!)

Why are clubs important at Solefield School?

With over 40 clubs and organisations on offer each term, Solefield pupils have a diverse and extensive set of opportunities to enrich their lives and learn through experience. Choirs, Chess, Tennis, Swimming, Dance and Drama are all on offer, amongst many, many more.....

Extracurricular activities are not an extra in our school. They are an integral part of the programme our school offers.

At Solefield, life outside the classroom is marked by energy, exploration, and community.   Solefield believes that creativity and self-discovery are important aspects of the student experience, and these clubs and other activities are a great way to find new interests or develop existing ones.
