Details on tonight's e-mass
Dear Friends,

What a couple of weeks these have been! Our world changing daily and our lives along with it. I know many of us are hunkering down at home to avoid exposure to the coronavirus and hope all are still well.

Kathleen and I have been collaborating with some wonderful people and learning new things so that in this time of necessary physical distancing from each other we can still gather as a community.

Here's what's happening:

Thursday we decided it would be most prudent to cancel all in-person Holy Wisdom gatherings including masses until this crisis passes and we are no longer likely to put each other in danger. At this point, no one knows when that will be. Even as we were making those decisions however, we were looking into ways to gather for mass and meetings through the internet. We explored several options and chose Zoom. Almost immediately upon choosing that meeting platform, Lou Ellyn offered to help us set it up, which she did with Kathleen and me today.

Lou Ellyn and Kathleen then tested and wrote up detailed directions for accessing Zoom, which are here. (Thank you, Techie Angels!)

Just a few of us will gather in-person to celebrate mass but hope many of you will join us through the Zoom app. We will be in the online gathering space at 4:00 pm today and available to help anyone unfamiliar with Zoom to get set up during that hour before mass so we can begin on time.

Below is the information you need to access the Zoom gathering between 4:00 and 5:00 pm Saturday. Detailed directions are here.

Gathering for mass like this is new for all of us and we don't necessarily expect all to go smoothly but that's pretty normal for us - so let's trust we will have all we need and then some. I'm sure it will be an adventure and that it will bring us joy to be together, even as we need to do it while maintaining some pretty serious personal distancing.

Since we will not be physically together for mass, some of you have asked about where to send donations to Holy Wisdom. You are welcome to donate online here.

If you have questions or concerns about the technology, you are welcome to call Lou Ellyn or Kathleen. Any non-tech questions, you are welcome to email me.

I hope to see you at mass!

Love,
Diane
A Prayer for the Coronavirus
(by Kerry Weber, America Magazine, March 2, 2020)
Jesus Christ, you traveled through towns and villages “curing every disease and illness.”
At your command, the sick were made well.
Come to our aid now, in the midst of the global spread of the coronavirus, that we may experience your healing love.
Heal those who are sick with the virus.
May they regain their strength and health through quality medical care.
Heal us from our fear, which prevents nations from working together and neighbors from helping one another.
Heal us from our pride, which can make us claim invulnerability to a disease that knows no borders.
Jesus Christ, healer of all, stay by our side in this time of uncertainty and sorrow.
Be with those who have died from the virus.
May they be at rest with you in your eternal peace.
Be with the families of those who are sick or have died.
As they worry and grieve, defend them from illness and despair.
May they know your peace.
Be with the doctors, nurses, researchers and all medical professionals who seek to heal and help those affected and who put themselves at risk in the process.
May they know your protection and peace.
Be with the leaders of all nations.
Give them the foresight to act with charity and true concern for the well-being of the people they are meant to serve.
Give them the wisdom to invest in long-term solutions that will help prepare for or prevent future outbreaks.
May they know your peace, as they work together to achieve it on earth.
Whether we are home or abroad, surrounded by many people suffering from this illness or only a few, Jesus Christ, stay with us as we endure and mourn, persist and prepare.
In place of our anxiety, give us your peace.
Jesus Christ, heal us.
