The CLAY Summer Leader Resource Pack designed for you by the CLAY National Planning Committee (NPC) has everything you need to start getting ready for CLAY 2023. This CLAY Summer Leader Resource is created with youth in mind and contains suggested scripture readings, devotions, activities, music, and more to help youth and community leaders plan and carry out an event for their group.

This resource includes contributions from keynote speakers Rev. Nathan Fong and Rev. Aneeta Saroop, as well as pieces from the Venerable Val Kerr, who is the Gathering Elder. The CLAY NPC is excited to offer this free resource, and hopes that this will build community and excitement as leaders explore the gathering theme: Ashes & Embers. Please check out the resource when you click here.

KAIROS Climate Action Month

From ELCIC News
Decolonizing climate action will underscore KAIROS’ fourth annual Climate Action Month, which launches September 1. Throughout September, KAIROS will explore weekly themes through online content and actions that will include a Canada focus (fossil fuels and environmental racism), global grassroots women’s organizations, and Indigenous rights.

KAIROS’ Climate Action Month amplifies the World Council of Churches’ Season of Creation, which runs from September 1 (World Day of Prayer for Creation) to October 4 (St. Francis of Assisi Day). The theme of this year’s Season of Creation is Listen to the Voice of Creation, in recognition of the voices that are muted or silenced in their attempts to communicate the climate crisis. Learn more here.

Two ELCIC partners are currently inviting applications to be delegates to 27th UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt (November 2022).
Once again, the Eastern Synod Mission Committee is inviting funding proposals from creative mission and ministry initiatives. We are looking for project proposals from congregations, specialized ministries and Ministry Areas in the areas of Long Term, Short Term and Compassionate Justice Initiatives. We would like to support initiatives that are about increasing the vitality of your congregations, strengthening discipleship in Jesus Christ, building relationships, are experimental or exploratory in nature, and are aimed at engaging those outside your walls.

Eastern Synod Mission Grants are funded through the Church Extension and Capital Fund of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada.

The application deadline is September 30, 2022. For more information about funding requirement, or to apply, please CLICK HERE

**A reminder to those who are applying for on-going funding to a currently funded project: Interim Reports are due with this application. We are unable to review applications for additional funding (CJI, Long Term or Short Term) if previous years’ reporting forms have not been received.
