Trolley Museum Plein Air Festival & Reception

We're excited about this month's Plein Air Festival on April 23. There are two ways you can participate: as a plein air artist, or reception attendee. Or both! The event at the National Capital Trolley Museum in Colesville still has painter spots available for adults and children; painting is from 9:30 am-4:30 pm. From 5:30-7 pm, we'll have a judged show with prizes, reception and sale that is open to everyone, including your friends and family. A portion of sales supports the museum's restoration efforts.

Seeking Candidates for 2022-23 Board

Later this month, we'll ask you to vote for the 2022-23 Board of Directors, whose terms begin June 1. We've posted descriptions of all roles, along with a list of current candidates. If you're interested in running for a Board position, email Alan Rich by April 10. Board members receive free annual membership and waived entry fees for our exhibitions.

President Alan Rich Not Seeking Reelection

Alan Rich has decided that, sadly, he will not be seeking another term as MAA president. Alan has served as president for the past 3 1/2 years, and previously was vice president of programs. He will stay on the Board in the past president role, which we're very happy about. We'll have chances in the coming months to celebrate Alan and hope you'll join us in thanking him for his dedication to all of us, exceptional business sense, and great humor!
Windridge Spring Tasting Room Exhibition

Our curators have made their selections for the spring exhibition in the tasting room at Windridge Vineyards in Darnestown. We're excited to open the show on April 6. Windridge will host an evening of jazz and meet the artists event May 26. Shown is Lou Ann Collins' Vineyard View. See who's in the show.
Members Show at Gaither Center

Thirty-five members' works will soon be on exhibit at the Benjamin Gaither Center in Gaithersburg. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-4 pm. Thank you to Holly Buehler and Therese Capal for serving as our show managers. Shown is Still Life with Potato by Diana Tato-Nakash. See who's in the show.

Brookside Reception was a Blooming Success

We were delighted to welcome more than 200 artists and guests to our reception celebrating "The Nature of Art" at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton. We gave out sweet treats and mingled while our print bins saw good sales. The visitors center exhibition runs through April 25. See who's in the show.

This month's One Theme Online Gallery features self-portraits. Shown is a detail of Anastasia Walsh's mosaic Rock Cheek. Submit a free entry for our next theme, "action," via this form by April 20.
