The Montgomery Art Association is proud to showcase our members' art activities and achievements in this new newsletter. Look for it on the 15th of each month.
Carolyn Avery has two paintings, White Lotus and Pink Lotus, in the "Compass Atelier Group Show" at the Brookside Gardens in Wheaton. The show runs from April 25 to May 23.

Danielle Bensky is having a solo show "Dreamscapes: Experiments in Narrative Symbolism" at the Strongin Collection Gallery in Washington, DC, through April 27.

Jennifer Crouch has two pieces in the Rockville Art League's "Lost, Found and Looking Forward" juried show at Glenview Mansion in Rockville through May 6. Also, Jennifer's piece My Trail will be on display at the Kensington Park Library throughout April in a collaboration with poet Sunayna Pal for their Ekphrastic Poetry Show.

Shelly Dane is one of nine local artists participating in a local COLOR Spring Art Show April 22-24. This is a residential show, so please contact Shelly at for the location and additional details.

Karen Lantner won First Prize in the Rockville Art League/City of Rockville juried art show "Lost, Found and Looking Forward" for her painting "Solace," an oil on canvas which dealt with the pandemic and its aftereffects. The show runs through May 6 at the Glenview Mansion, Rockville.

Margo Lehman is offering a one-day workshop about Ukrainian Pysanky eggs on April 23 from 10 am to 2:30 pm. All supplies are provided. Proceeds will be donated to the United Nations Human Rights Council to support refugee relief. Register on her website.

Karen Merkin has an oil painting of King Street (Alexandria, Virginia) in the "National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society 2022 Best of America Small Works Juried National Exhibition." The show will be on display at the Beverly McNeil Gallery in Birmingham, Alabama, from April 28 to May 27.

Susan Due Pearcy is part of the Countryside Artisans open gallery/studio tour April 22-24 at the Maryland Agricultural Reserve. Susan's Sugarloaf Studio is #16 on the tour map. More information and the map are on the website.

Terry Pellmar's digital painting The Storm, was selected for “Decades Ahead: Visions of the Future” at the Popcorn Gallery in Glen Echo Park. In addition, Terry's Enter with Elegance is part of the Laurel Art Guild’s 53rd Annual Open Juried Exhibition at the Montpelier Arts Center in Laurel. Both shows run through May 1.

Marie Riccio has a solo show of her contemporary still life oil paintings called "Obscured & Found" at The Artists Gallery (TAG) in Frederick. The show runs until May 1, with an artist’s talk on April 23 at 3 pm.

Ann Schaefer's solo show "Sun and Shade" features paintings of beautiful places in Maryland and is showing at Gallery 322 in Frederick through May 1. Ann will donate 25% of all sales to humanitarian relief for Ukraine.

Martina Sestakova is participating in a group show, "Transitions," by the Washington Water Color Association at the Chesapeake Framing Company in Kensington through April 30.  

Liam Sever is part of the Ch/Art PNC Pop-Up Art Fair, an outdoor event in the PNC Chevy Chase parking lot on April 24. Liam and other local artists are showing and selling original works of art as well as limited-edition prints.


Joyce Smith has a solo exhibition of approximately 30 pieces depicting nature's many moods and seasons at the Connie Morella Library in Bethesda through April 30.


Elisabeth Steel's painting Dream Fragments is in the "Lifetime of Perspective" show at the Goldman Art Gallery at the Bender Jewish Community Center in Rockville through May 1.


Katherine Thomas is exhibiting in the "Expressions in Glass 2022" show at the Art Glass Center in Glen Echo Park through April 24.


The Baltimore Water Color Society has selected Tena Turner as one of their Signature Artists. Her work has also been juried into the Laurel Art Guild exhibition.

Paula Zeller's oil painting "Searching" was juried into the International Guild of Realism's 16th Annual Exhibition. The show will run June 10-July 24 at the McBride Gallery in Annapolis.
