Celebrate Juneteenth in Pittsburgh

This special edition of the PUMP Weekly Way features Juneteenth events and celebrations in the Pittsburgh area so you can get involved + give back!

Juneteenth is a holiday that symbolizes the end of slavery in the United States. It is celebrated by millions of Black people in the United States, and it is a day that should be recognized and honored by everyone.

In 2021, the City of Pittsburgh will celebrate Juneteenth as a holiday for the first time. Just this week, the United States officially made Juneteenth a national holiday. Juneteenth symbolizes one of the most significant periods in our history - the end of slavery - and is a reminder of the work still to be done to ensure racial justice.

Read on for opportunities to celebrate Juneteenth!
