Hazard Report Forms

Safety promotion is a major factor in Safety Management System (SMS). Our current SMS consists of airport stakeholders and operators who meet on a regular basis to discuss any safety matters that may arise. This includes aviation operations and also non-aviation activities.
We encourage our airport community to submit a Hazard Reporting Form on any risks or hazards they may come across. Sydney Metro Airport will undertake a review on the reported concern and may take action if required. Hazard reports are also tabled and discussed at our SMS meetings.
If you are interested in becoming a part of our SMS committee please contact Dita Tsaliagos on 8709 9408 or email for further details.

High Visibility Garments
The Manual of Standards Part 139 (MOS 139) outlines apron safety management procedures and the requirement for people involved in airside activities to wear high visibility garments. Sydney Metro Airport would like to remind the aviation community of the effectiveness of wearing high visibility apparel and how important it is to be seen in the airport environment.
Planned Hazard Reduction - Liverpool Military Area
In Autumn 2018, the NSW Regional Fire Service (RFS) is intending to undertake hazard reduction burning. It is intended to be a five day burn of a section of the Liverpool (Holsworthy) Military Area, starting early on a Saturday morning. The exact date is yet to be determined as NSW RFS will be waiting for the best weather conditions for this type of operation.
It is intended that the hazard reduction burn will be approximately 800 hectares in size, and it borders the Liverpool and Sutherland Shire Local Government Areas.
Further information will be sent out prior to the event once a more accurate date is known.
Additional information will be found on the NSW RFS website once the date is confirmed.
Filming and Events
We would like to take the opportunity to emphasise the importance of communicating your intention to hold any events, filming, photoshoots or similar activity. Sydney Metro Airport must conduct a thorough safety and risk assessment to evaluate any risks prior to any event or filming.
Please contact our Filming and Events Manager, Rhiannon Wilson on 9796 9400 or email to discuss your interest.
