EIT Health RIH Germany-Switzerland Newsletter
Dear EIT Health Partners and Friends,
With less than two weeks until the first cut-off (on 2nd November), the flagship call is now in full swing. Everyone on our team is working wholeheartedly on this major venture and is determined to support you with your application to make your project a success.
With this in mind, our newsletter this month is once again all about the many ways we are supporting and linking our partners locally and across Europe to get the most out of the current Call. I am especially pleased to introduce you to our Collaboration Lead Jeff Wilkesmann this month. He explains in an interview how exactly the Collaboration Lead supports partners in the application process. Together we both will represent the Swiss-German ecosystem at our Matchmaking Event in Luxembourg on 25 and 26 October. Are you interested in participating there, but missed the registration deadline? You can't attend but would like us to represent your interests? Just let us know.
Now I hope you enjoy reading our newsletter. Perhaps we will meet at one of our upcoming events, such as the JointAnnual Symposium in Mannheim on which you will also find new information below.
I look forward to seeing you there!

Event Blog: We were at the Kassengipfel 2022 in Berlin
EIT Health Germany-Switzerland has been a part of the KassenGipfel in Berlin for many years - and this year is no exception. As one of the supporters of this annual congress for healthcare providers and insurers, we were present to meet the participants, wherever they were: on stage, in the programme pamphlets, and even next to the coffee station.
Read our Event Blog and learn about those two exciting days and why you should join this event next year.

In an effort to coordinate EIT´s AI activities and to strengthen its position as a thought leader on AI in Europe, five of EIT´s Knowledge and Innovation Communities, including EIT Health, joined forces in the Innovation Impact AI project.
As AI has the potential to increase business process efficiency and contribute to a better living for EU citizens, initiatives like this project help achieve the goal to increase Europe's competitiveness and ability to create AI innovation. The aim of the project is to reduce the barriers on the way to adopting AI solutions by offering educational products on AI for students and professionals, by enabling joint innovation activities between businesses and academia and by nurturing entrepreneurial talent.
It's finally time: Give a big round of applause to the EIT Awards finalists and winners!
Each year, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) celebrates the entrepreneurial and societal achievements of its innovators at the EIT Awards. Biggest congratulations to the Venture Award finalist Hans Maria Heyn, CEO of Smart4Diagnostics GmbH, for placing third and Catherine Schreiber, CEO and co-founder of EIT Health-supported ADVITOS GmbH for winning the Woman Leadership Award!
The ADVOS technology by ADVITOS (ADVanced Organ Support) is a therapy that provides support in a single device for the three main detoxification organs of liver, lungs and kidneys at the same time. The idea behind Smart4Diagnostics is to digitise the entire blood sampling procedure, thus ensuring a seamless tracking of blood samples.
