Some of us are out of work. Others are watching their personal finances shrink. Some of us are scared of catching this Covid-19, while others are fighting different physical issues at the moment. When you look around our church, there are a lot of scary things going on. And yet, Jesus Christ is still on His throne and He is still with us today.
“Trust in theLordwith all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones” (Proverbs 3:5-8).
All of us are confronted with challenges. We can choose to confront them on our own or we can take them to the Lord. We can choose to follow the world’s advice, or we can “fear the Lord” and do things His way. Each one of us must make this choice on our own.
The outcome of trusting in the Lord and operating under His guidance produces blessings in our lives. The Bible declares that we will have healing and refreshment. Who wouldn’t want that?
Love to all,
P.S. This proverb always makes me laugh because the word for “flesh” is literally bellybutton.
