Merry Christmas! I love saying those words. Whether it is at church, with friends, or to complete strangers on the street, I want people to experience the joy that can be ours through Jesus Christ.
As we enter into this holiday (Holy-Day) time, please remember the words of the Prophet Isaiah:
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this (Isaiah 9:6-7)
This child we are celebrating is so much more than a baby in a manger. As John tells us, “For He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (Revelation 17:14).
I want to encourage you to join us for our Sunday morning and Christmas Eve services. My hope is that our time together does not end up being something normal. My prayer is that as we seek the Lord, He will come and draw us together as a family, blessing us with His presence in a very real way. I look forward to seeing you there!
