I am excited about the new year and some changes that are happening in our Student Ministry. Youth Group is now Sunday night from 5-7pm at Canby Alliance Church. The new day and location are really important changes for the ministry. This new location allows for growth and the space is a much better fit for student ministry. The decision to move things to Sunday night comes from a desire to make things easier for students and families. There were just too many school and extracurricular conflicts on Wednesday night. The hope is that Sunday night will be less stressful for families because they will not have as many things going on and that will be a positive impact on our attendance. We want to get the opportunity to connect with more students regularly and share Jesus with them and help them grow in their relationship with Him.
Another thing I am really excited about is we are adding a meal once a month for Youth Group. A time to sit together as a family and enjoy a meal is not something all students get to experience at home and this will allow us to connect with students in a personal way. The goal for these meals is to partner with our Community Groups to be part of this by sponsoring one of these monthly meals. This would include cooking and serving the meal as well as we would also like to have the Community Groups join us for the meal. Our prayer is this will be a way to get more people involved in the lives’ of our students and help to foster relationships with them. Discipleship takes a village and this is a great way as a church we can come alongside of students and parents and minister to them.
We kicked things off for the new year with Nerf Wars this past Sunday and we are doing a snow trip tomorrow. (We still have some room left if any students want to go. Let me know ASAP) Our goal is to connect relationally with students so we can share the gospel with them and be able to help those that know Jesus grow deeper in their relationship with Him. We desire to see students make their faith their own. We want to be a support for parents as they disciple their students and help point them to Jesus. We also want to stand in the gap for students who do not come from Christian homes by discipling them. One way that everyone can partner with our Student Ministry is through prayer.

We have a great team of volunteers that I am really excited to work with. Please be praying for, Parker and Brittany McClaugherty, Luis Toledano and myself as we serve students, pour into their lives and point them to Jesus.
We are looking to add a few more volunteers to the team that are passionate about students. We are especially in need of a few more ladies. Please pray that God will provide the right people.

16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
