Greetings from the President
Dear <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>,
I know with recent news and the current administration, every day in the last 500+ have seemed like the longest day. It is going to take hard work from all of us if we want to change things in this country. Though we have just passed the summer solstice and so we are on the run towards November!
I have just returned from the Annual Conference of the National Federation of Democratic Women and it is so energizing to be in a room full of people who share your goals! It was great being able to spread the message that Idaho is ready to ride the Blue Wave! I met great Democratic women leaders from across the country and learned what other states are doing to prepare for November. I certainly left fired up and ready to get more Democratic women involved!
Many of you have been asking "What can I do to help?". First, I encourage everyone to become a member of the IDWC. Secondly, everyone should donate time, money and support to those candidates that match their words with their actions and whose values align with theirs. Third, let's get more people registered to vote and to vote absentee so that they can participate in the voting process. Finally, you must show up at the polls in November to vote for your preferred candidate and other Democratic candidates on the ballot.
Women across the state are translating words into action. Some are getting registration cards from their county courthouse and registering every voter they come across. Others are volunteering with canvassing and door knocking and attending marches to show their support. Many have been contacting members of Idaho's congressional delegation to make sure they hear that Idahoans believe #FamiliesBelongTogether. Idahoans want to build bridges, not barriers.
Please join us at the Idaho State Democratic Convention Breakfast, Saturday, June 30, 7:30 am. Our speaker will be the incredible Betty Richardson, who will be speaking about “The Rule of Law in the Age of Trump.”
Wishing everyone a safe and joyous 4th of July!
Gini Ballou, President of the Idaho Democratic Women’s Caucus
