Voter Revenge Bill Update

The Senate passed this legislation last Friday by 18-17 and it now heads to the House. This legislation threatens our Constitutional right to achieve ballot initiatives and locks Idahoans out of the process.

Let Governor Brad Little know that Idahoans oppose S1159. Take action today by signing the petition today and encourage him to veto this horrible piece of legislation.

Western Regional Conference and Meeting

The NFDW Western Regional Conference and Meeting will be held on April 27, 2019 in Portland, Oregon. While the other 3 regions of the NFDW have had yearly events in their regions, I believe this is the first regional event in the west in 4+ years.  This will be a great opportunity for democratic women in this part of the country to take part in workshops, informational sessions and collaborating with others to grow their state organizations in addition to preparing for the 2020 election cycle.

Regional Director Vacancies

At this year's breakfast, we elected new officers and re-elected Regional Directors for Regions 3, 5, and 7. However, we are still without a current regional director for Regions 1 and 2. Region 1 is comprised of Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, and Shoshone counties. Region 2 is comprised of Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce counties. If you are interested in serving as Regional Director, please let us know.

National Convention

Registration is now open for the 48th Annual convention and meeting of the National Federation of Democratic Women. This year's convention will be held in Albany, New York from June 14th to June 15th. The business of the NFDW will take place including the election of officers.
The theme – “Democratic Women Leading the Way” could not be more accurate and powerful. The convention is open to all NFDW members. Further, voting matters at the convention will take place by weighted votes by state, and therefore, it is important to have representation from our state to elect officers and to vote on matters including bylaws proposals, resolutions, and other matters of business.
