Dear <<First Name>> <<Last Name>>,
Greetings from IDWC President, Gini Ballou. Happy 2019! Welcome to the New Year and thank you for all your hard work this past year. Though we didn’t win every seat we wanted, we did make huge strides and have begun the 2019 Legislative session with more Democrats and more women than we’ve had in years. Please watch the session schedule and plan to be involved—the world is ruled by those that show up!
If there has been any lesson from this past election cycle it’s that we need to come together, support each other, work together. Now that we have enough representation at the Statehouse, we can expect more issues to become bills and to make it to the floor for a vote. Our leaders need to hear from us, see us and know that we are here to improve the state of Idaho, for all our citizens.
Our first event of the year is on January 18th. It is our annual Women in Blue Day at the Capital and we hope you can join us. We will meet on the Capital steps for a picture and then head inside to be introduced on both the House and the Senate floors. If you’ve not been to the Capital it really is a beautiful building, with rich history and somewhere all Idahoans should visit and feel at home.
After lunch in the Capital Cafeteria, (they actually have great food and at reasonable prices!), we will go over to the Labor offices where we will make posters for Saturday’s Women’s March. Whether you plan to take part in the March in Boise or at one of the many local Marches being planned around the state, join us to make signs and enjoy a bit more time together.
Later this month, in alliance with the Women’s March on Washington, women across Idaho will march in solidarity to raise and empower Idaho's diverse community of women to lead the fight for pay equity, women's health, family planning, affordable child care, and equal representation in all fields.

Upcoming dates to mark on your calendar are March 16th-17th for the 25th Annual Frank & Bethine Church weekend. As many of you know, we have our Annual Breakfast and Meeting on Sunday the 17th. We plan on having a great program, and electing some new officers. Remember that we cannot continue our progress without your support.

We are currently seeking nominations for both the Dottie Stimpson and the Distinguished Young Woman awards, that are presented at our Annual Meeting, to be held during breakfast. If you know a great Democratic woman that you feel deserves either of these honors, please submit an application, which can be found on our website!
