Medicaid Expansion Bill Update

The Senate passed the Medicaid Expansion bill with lots of costly sideboards that punish Idahoans simply for being poor. This bill now heads to Governor Little's desk to be signed or vetoed. We need to put pressure on him to ensure that it gets vetoed so our taxpayer dollars do not get wasted.

Let Governor Brad Little know that Idahoans oppose 1204aa. Take action today by signing the petition today and encourage him to veto this horrible piece of legislation. It is not what Idaho voters agreed upon last November.

NFDW DAY AT THE CAPITAL 2019

President Gini Ballou was able to represent the Idaho Democratic Women's Caucus in DC last month at the National Federation of Democratic Women's Women in Blue Day. She had a great time and met a lot of amazingly strong women. Watch the video below to see whom she met.

Western Regional Conference and Meeting

We want to remind everyone that the NFDW's Western Regional Meeting is later this month. We are encouraging everyone to go who is able to make the trip.

The NFDW Western Regional Conference and Meeting will be held on April 27, 2019 in Portland, Oregon. While the other 3 regions of the NFDW have had yearly events in their regions, I believe this is the first regional event in the west in 4+ years. This will be a great opportunity for democratic women in this part of the country to take part in workshops, informational sessions and collaborating with others to grow their state organizations in addition to preparing for the 2020 election cycle.

Regional Director Vacancies

At this year's breakfast, we elected new officers and re-elected Regional Directors for Regions 3, 5, and 7. However, we are still without a current regional director for Regions 1 and 2. Region 1 is comprised of Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, and Shoshone counties. Region 2 is comprised of Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce counties. If you are interested in serving as Regional Director, please let us know.
