REMINDER - Douglas Appleyard Talk- 25th January
Our first event of 2018 will be a talk by Douglas Appleyard, author of the well-known book on Coolock and the surrounding areas, Green Fields Gone Forever. Douglas' knowledge of the area is unparalleled.

The talk is entitled 'Coolock - before the suburb arrived' and will take place on Thursday, 25th January at 7pm at Parnell's GAA Club, Coolock Village. All are very welcome and there is no charge.

Dublin Inquirer article
The January issue of Dublin Inquirer features an article about the society and in particular the Oral History Project. This issue went on sale yesterday. A preview of the article can be found here: Dublin Inquirer article.

Oral History Project - Workshop date to be announced
The society will be undertaking an Oral History Project throughout 2018 - interviewing residents from the surrounding areas who moved here in the 1950s and 1960s as well as those who have lived in Coolock all their lives. We are interested in as many people participating in this project as is possible.

Dublin City Libraries are supporting this project and are in the process of organising a one-day workshop to train oral interviewers in March 2018. If you are interested in being involved in this project or know of others who could be interested, please do get in touch!
