All Welcome to Adult Religious Education by Chestnut Hill MM
Chestnut Hill Monthly Meeting invites Friends from Philadelphia Quarter to join us for three Adult Religious Ed offerings on Sunday mornings in June, 9:00 to 10:15 am. They’re being conducted by Zoom, and will encourage sharing by participants along with reflections by the facilitators.
  • June 14, COVID-19 and your Spiritual Growth.  This program will be led by Irene McHenry and Cyane Gresham.  Questions that will be addressed include the following:  How is the quarantine affecting your spiritual practices?  What are the gifts and challenges in your experience of the quarantine?  How is the community supporting you during this time?  The class will include some guided spiritual practice.
Experiment with Light: A Quaker Meditation Discipline Based on Writings of Early Friends' Practices
Note: I regret not getting this notice out in time for CHMM's  first session on June 7, How Families with Children are Coping with COVID-19 Challenges.  Undoubtedly, this was a very valuable experience and hopefully we will see more such opportunities.  Thank you Chestnut Hill Friends! -LL
  • June 28, COVID-19 and your Activist Intentions.  Given what you see of the change that is needed in this Covid-19 age, how are/can we move beyond information to effective action that can bring about the changes we want to see in the world?  How do we avoid disempowerment and paralysis in the face of seemingly overwhelming and insurmountable threats?  This class was designed by Craig DeLarge, and is still in the planning stages.
For meeting ID and password, please e-mail Jeff Perkins at clerk@chestnuthillquakers.org.  We’ll look forward to seeing you!

Resources for the Times
Did you try out the new links in the PQM treasure hunt? Top of the page. Good stuff there, mates.
Pendle Hill -  Anytime!  Have you tried Pendle Hill's recorded and live streaming? It is a great way to get connected, be inspired – and learn more about Quakerism, resources & actions.

Friends may also join in daily worship with a handful of resident Pendle Hill staff  and Quakers across the Earth from 8:30am to 9:10 am Eastern Time (US & Canada), continuing the 90-year-long tradition of daily worship here on the Pendle Hill campus.
Friends Journal and QuakerSpeak -  Being stuck at home can be both a challenge and an opportunity spiritual growth and right action. So - what better time to subscribe to or visit the Friends Journal? Herein is a wealth of relevant resources and information.

Many friends enjoy listening to Quakers speak (a play on words attempted) on a range of topics. (Non-Violent Parenting seemed especially prescient - it spoke to me in a practical way as a homeschooling parent in captivity with a distance learning second grader for the past quarter of a year.)
