September 2, 2020

USHLI is proud to join with the American Federation of Teachers, the National Education Association, and other prominent organizations in support of a National Day of Action on September 2.

Our schools are desperately trying to find the best and safest ways to reopen for the 2020/2021 academic year. Unfortunately, our schools do not have the resources, financial or otherwise, needed to protect everyone’s health and safety.

We are calling on Congress, especially the Republican-led US Senate, to pass the HEROES Act, which was passed by the Democrat-led House of Representatives last May. The bill contains the proper funding levels needed to ensure that schools receive the necessary resources needed to reopen schools in the best and safest ways possible.

In the flyer below, there’s a list of actions everyone can take in support of this national effort. We strongly urge you to do at least one of the things listed. The lives of 57 million students are at stake. We will greatly appreciate your support.
