AFCHES Families,
As April draws to a close and Spring is finally here, we have a few fun announcements to make.
This Friday, we have a Dress-Up As Your Favorite teacher day and 4th grade career day! Coming up in May, we have a 1st grade reading and math workshop, a REACH Assembly, and an upcoming town hall to discuss what the next school year will look like. Finally, our next round of STEP testing begins at the end of next month.
We still have seats open at our school for next year, especially for incoming 1st grade scholars. We encourage you to share this news with friends and family searching for a school and let them know that they are still able to apply for their scholar! Enrollment is an exciting time in which we get to expand our wonderful community as we look forward to the next academic year.
Have a great week!

<FYI> Free or Reduced Virtual Tutoring Options
Team Special Services has assembled this Virtual Tutoring Options resource outlining free or low-cost tutoring services available to our students that schools could share with scholars and families around Progress Report or Report Card nights. The list currently includes programs through Columbia University, Fordham University, and other credible programs. Please make this available for families or share specific tutoring organizations with your school communities as you see fit. The programs listed meet the following criteria that we believe can provide some support for scholars:
- Free or low cost
- Provides a consistent tutor
- Provides a higher frequency of 2+ times a week for 1-2 hours
- Provides one-on-one or small group tutoring

From the beginning of the year he has been kind to others, focuses on his work, and takes risks even when he doesn't know something.
