Building and implementing a resilient transformation for Europe: Join EURESFO in Cascais

The European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO) is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Cascais, Portugal, 18-20 October! Since 2013, EURESFO has been a unique exchange platform for city representatives, experts and stakeholders from local and regional institutions to discuss ways of adapting to climate change, charting progress made, and opportunities to scale up action and within a shared vision of a climate resilient future. National workshops bring local leaders together to address climate adaptation

Successful climate change adaptation measures need to be appropriately adapted to local contexts – a challenging task that can be made easier through peer support. National workshops organised by the Covenant of Mayor’s Policy Support Facility (PSF) are bringing together local municipalities, regional authorities and practitioners to support them to tailor and implement adaptation measures.

Building urban resilience in London through community-led decision making

Like many other cities, London aims to enhance the quality of life for its residents, preserve its local environment, and build a more resilient community to cope with the impacts of climate change. While the solution is not simple, developing socially cohesive neighbourhoods is a crucial starting point to address many of the challenges we face today.



ICLEI tests artificial intelligence to support local authorities decarbonise the building sector

How can artificial intelligence support climate action? New projects are demonstrating how artificial intelligence can assist in using data to develop climate measures.  ICLEI and its partners in the EU project MATRYCS are concluding the final testing phase of a decision support model, powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning technologies, for a profitable renovation of the building sector at eleven large scale pilot projects.



Applications now open for the 2024 edition of the Natura 2000 Awards

The Natura 2000 Award was envisioned to recognise the efforts of people and organisations working to protect and manage nature to achieve these goals. Applicants will have their work displayed on the Award website, while finalists will receive additional coverage via European Commision channels, a monetary prize, and a celebratory ceremony. Applications remain open until 29 September.
