What happens this weekend at HCPC?

This weekend we try something new! How about we celebrate communion and share in a picnic?

To simplify logistics of compliance, I have arranged the day in such a way that about 25 people can gather for the first communion slot, after this we gather in groups for fellowship and then at 11:00 we will have another opportunity for about 25 people to celebrate communion.

Times for Sunday are as follows:
09:30-10:00 BYO (Bring your own) Outdoor Communion I
10:00-11:00 Outdoor Picnic
(perhaps two/three groups of no more than 25 people in each group)
11:00-11:30 BYO Outdoor Communion II

This is your invitation to join us for an in-person celebration. Under current Covid-19 Government regulations, we are allowed outdoor 'picnic' gatherings of up to 25 people, as long as everyone remains masked, stays in the same groups, and we practice good hygiene.

Our lawns at the Centreway Rd sanctuary are lovely at the moment, and we have ample space to host seperate groups.

Logistics of the day:
Everything is BYO (Bring your own), this includes food & drink, communion elements, mask, shade, chairs, picnic blankets etc.

We will put out sanitiser, QR-Codes, some tables (and a few chairs).

Please park at the Lodge, Harcourts, or along the side of our building.

Lastly we request that you do not move between groups during the picnic as this would cause us to be in violation of the regulations.

Advent Experience at HCPC

It is the season of Hope, of Love, of Joy and of Peace.

We are hosting a large nativity scene in the foyer of our Centreway rd Sanctuary for people who walk past or drive by to enjoy. Thanks to a team of helpers we have most of what we need, however we still need a couple of large mannequins. Do you have some or know where we might be able to borrow them? Please contact Esther on 021955194.

Remember this during Advent and walk past to experience a bit of the wonder that is Christmas.

Art Competition for Advent 2021

Help us spread the word

We are excited to announce that HCPC is running an art competition that is open to the Hibiscus Coast community. This competition will have some prizes - so why not take a chance.

Competition Briefing:
2021 has been tough enough - we hope your art will help all of us experience the wonder of Christmas in a new way. Please Paint, Draw, or Sculpt an art piece that ties into advent and represents one (or more) of the four advent themes: Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace. Each piece should be accompanied by a short description of what it represents, who made it, the age of the creator, and contact details so we can be in touch.

To submit an art piece, please arrange with our minister for a contactless drop-off at 107 Centreway Rd. This can be done via email (minister@hibiscuscoastpresbyterian.org.nz).

Closing date for submissions is December 19, and winners will be announced on December 24 via our Facebook page and direct contact.

Please note that Art will be returned early in 2022 and may be displayed on site and/or our digital platforms (Facebook/Website etc)

Covid-19 Traffic Light System

How will this impact HCPC?

Please pray with our minister and our leadership as they work their way through the implications of the recent announcement that New Zealand will be moving to a different C19 management system by December 15.

The Presbyterian Church's Council of Assemblies are also working hard at providing guidance on the matter. We will send out an update with our detailed response and what it means for HCPC during the different levels (Red, Orange, Green).

More information to follow soon.
