April 2019 Newsletter
To become a great connector, you must believe that you can become a great connector. It’s called having a growth mindset and learning to treat challenges as exciting learning opportunities.

The good news is that putting yourself out in the world isn’t as scary when you have a few tricks up your sleeve. In this 2 1/2-minute video, I explain how a few simple little changes can dramatically change the way you think and feel about your abilities and how this carries over to the way you approach relationship building.
Use Positive Power Language

Watch the video, then consider the following questions from The Connector's Way System (details here and below):
  • What are one or two things you can start doing right now to become a better relationship builder?
  • What new skills can you develop through practice and passion?
  • What are your favorite positive power phrases—and how will you use them?
Remember, how you think and talk about yourself carries over to the way you approach relationship building. By focusing on all the good things that can happen when you put yourself out into the world, instead of everything that might possibly go wrong, you create positive change that starts from within.

Connection and Community

Finally, in a news cycle overly focused on the negative, here is a great story on the power of connection as demonstrated by a group of neighbors in Newton, Massachusetts, who took it upon themselves to learn sign language so they could communicate with a two year old girl (a true connector in every sense!).
