I hope this newsletter finds you well. It's hard to believe that the first half of 2020 is behind us, a year that has given new meaning to the word tumultuous

The coronavirus pandemic has changed the way people live and work, often blurring the line between the two. Although I've worked from a home office for the last 18 years, I find myself spending more time looking out the window to observe the comings and goings of the birds in my backyard. Their antics are a welcome way to break up a workday packed with Zoom calls, virtual presentations, and online coaching sessions.

I am not alone. Once a favorite hobby of senior citizens, birdwatching, or birding, has surged in popularity over the last few months—especially among a younger generation looking for ways to stay connected to nature while dealing with a world that feels upside down.

Speaking of our avian friends, you've probably heard the expression, "Birds of a feather flock together." While homophily works in the bird world, in the business world it seriously limits our opportunities for success. Now more than ever, we must embrace diversity and the richness that it brings to our lives. In the following 4-minute video, I reflect on Rule Number Two of The Connector's Way and why it is so important to seek out people who expose you to new ways of thinking.
