Welcome to 3rd Thursdays, a quick-read monthly newsletter for the 3rd Thursday of every month to help make room for more abundance. This is the final installment of 2020.
Some opportunities come around once in our lifetimes. In 1986, when I was 10 years old, Halley's Comet made big news much like the Neowise Comet did in July when we had several weeks to view it with the naked eye.
I took several shots on my tripod along the outskirts of town...
The biggest difference is Halley's Comet comes around once every 76 years, while Neowise comes around every 7000 years.
At 10 years old in 1986 my dad dragged my ass out of bed at 3am in the morning to see Halley's Comet. There was a gathering of people in the hills and my dad wanted to make sure I saw it through one of the powerful community telescopes that was shared among the group. He asked, "Did you see it?"
I claimed I saw it as a white fuzz through the telescope around 4am but wasn't 100% sure. That was 34 years ago. It was a moment in time I shared with my dad that I will always remember about a comet that comes around once every 76 years.
The year 2020 has reminded us to slow down, to reflect, and rediscover what's most important. My dad became my guardian angel 10 years ago and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think about him.
My challenge for you on this 3rd Thursday is to think of a moment in time when someone dragged you outside of your comfort zone, but looking back the experience became a great memory. Thank that person!
Finally, describe the feeling when that task has been accomplished and the space you've created in your mind to allow for more abundance. Find a reason to celebrate, even if it's a self affirmation, "Yep, I got this".
Before we wrap up for the holidays, I wanted to share the 2020 3rd Thursday issue that received the most responses. It was the July issue with the message of "Permission to let Go". Click here for article.
Enjoy the holidays, be grateful, and be ready for the first issue of 3rd Thursdays of 2021 on Thursday, January 22, 2021.
