COVID-19 has not deterred our efforts to keep sustainable energy solutions on the foreground, but has challenged us to find new ways to come together. This year's EU Sustainable Energy Week ("EUSEW"), themed " Beyond the crisis: Clean energy for green recovery and growth" will be held online. EUSEW is the biggest event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe.
The EuroPACE team is thrilled to be part of the event and to present our home renovation model on the 25th of June at 11AM. GNE Finance founder and CEO Davide Cannarozzi and Joserra Lopez, Project Manager at Ente Vasco de la Energía will take part in the session "Effective home renovation programs to stimulate the post COVID-19 recovery", showcasing successful home renovation programs with the ability to achieve scale and play a pivotal role in achieving the European Green Deal’s goals. It will highlight several initiatives that provide technical support and financing to European citizens, within the framework of broader urban regeneration strategies.
For those interested to participate in the EUSEW, please note that you must register in advance. Registrations will open on the website later this month.

EuroPACE presented as case study on how to deploy innovative financing to scale up retrofit financing
Green Finance Institute's Coalition for the Energy Efficiency of Buildings, established in the UK, has presented its first findings on the scaling up of retrofit financing. In its report, it finds that a lack of attractive and available financing is a common barrier to energy-efficient renovations, highlighting the urgent need to expand the scale and pace of investment in the sector.
The report features EuroPACE as a case study for innovative financing solutions, using the project as an example of how to effectively lower the threshold for energy-efficient home renovations and proliferate urgently needed action within the retrofit sector.

Post-COVID-19 economic opportunities for Europe's building sector

BPIE Analysis points to potential to mitigate economic fallout through scaling up deep renovation rate
BPIE's recent report shows that up to €90 billion would be needed annually until 2050 in order to trigger a significant scaling op of the renovation rate and depth. €76 billion would need to be allocated in support of building renovation, with the additional €14 billion pooled in an innovation fund, aimed at scaling up serial renovation of buildings on an industrial scale.
Policymakers in Europe should integrate these findings in their decision-making process with regards to recovery packages and planning; renovating Europe's building stock offers an unmissable opportunity to increase economic activity, achieve climate and energy targets and provide healthy buildings to all European citizens.
