President’s Letter

Happy Fall Everyone!

It seems that the weather is changing right on schedule this year and it’s really a beautiful time in New England. While club activities are starting to wind down a bit, we have a wonderful seminar coming up on September 29th. Dr. Ann Camp, Senior Lecturer and Research Scientist (retired) at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies will speak with our group about a concern to all of us...TICKS. It seems like a new tick borne disease affecting both humans and dogs is identified on a regular basis and at the same time articles are appearing about the negative implications of this product or that product used to combat the little devils. What is the best thing to do? The answer is, come and hear what Ann has to say about this issue at our Fall Luncheon and Member Meeting on Sunday the 29th at the Colonel Blackinton Inn in Attleboro, MA. A super brunch is planned at 12:30 in the carriage house of this charming inn and there are still spots available. Cost is $35 per person and you can register on-line by going to our website,

And while you’re at it, mark you calendar for Sunday, January 5th, 2020 (can you believe it?) for our annual Festivus Celebration. We will meet again at MasterPeace Dog Training Center, Fisher Street in Franklin, MA (just off Route 495). Dr. Stephanie Pumphrey, DVM, DACVO and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University will again be doing ophthalmic exams (formerly CERFs) for our group at reduced rates and we can promise you a day of fun, pot luck and a chance to rub elbows with your favorite kind of people...PWD owners.

I look forward to seeing you and let’s have fun with our dogs out there.
