Join the conversation on our Virtual Library
Westminster Council have an ambition to create the best virtual library to complement and enhance our physical libraries. We are working with the Royal College of Arts who are running a series of workshops with Westminster residents. We are particularly keen to include residents who already use our physical libraries but don’t use the virtual library and are confident internet users.
The workshops will be taking place at 10am on the 14th December 2021 via Zoom and will last 1.5 hours. A £30 Amazon voucher will be provided as a thank you for your time.
Spaces are limited and we want to ensure a wide range of residents so please get in touch with Neil Samson via email email@example.com to register your interest in taking part.
Episode 7 - Silver Stories
In Episode 7 Elisabeth and David Carney-Haworth talk about their simple, yet genius idea: ‘Silver Stories’. School children read to older people down the phone line. It alleviates loneliness in the elderly and dramatically improves kids’ fluency of reading. And it is forging true intergenerational relationships. They also speak about ‘Operation Encompass’: their pioneering work helping children caught up in instances of domestic abuse. And there are book choices that may surprise.
