Hello Astoria!!
What a wonderfully busy month- so good to see so many of you at Festival of Dark Arts and Fisher Poets Gathering!  We hope you'll join us this Friday March 3rd, 8:30am in the McTavish room at the Liberty Theater (enter on 12th, 2nd floor) for our General Meeting (please note Zoom is no longer available).  Feel free to download the agenda, and below is an overview of what we'll be chatting about as well as some announcements:

Welcome City Manager Scott Spence  

Scott brings 26 years of local government experience. He spent 22 years with Lacey, WA, holding positions as director of public affairs and assistant city manager before he was promoted to city manager in 2011. Prior to Lacey, Scott served as the assistant city manager in Sherwood, OR.  We are happy to have him at the City's helm! 🛞

Welcome Scott Justice and Marco Davis of Xanadu

Xanadu Astoria will be the first and only LGBTQ+ bar on the Pacific Northwest Coast and we can hardly wait for them to open this month in the Riviera building on 11th and Marine!!  Although they need no introduction, let's welcome Scott and Marco and hear about the incredible transformation of this downtown corner 🏳️‍🌈

Welcome Brooke McClain, Sunday Market Assistant
This will be Brooke's 2nd year at the Sunday Market with ADHDA and we can't be happier with all of the incredible work she is doing.  She's passionate about food systems coordination and this community, so say hello to her at this Friday's meeting or during market season! 🥕🥬🍅
Astoria Arts & Cultural District Meeting March 2nd, 11am

Curious about what it means to establish an Arts and Cultural District?  Join Liora Sponko, Senior Program Manager for the Oregon Arts Commission and Oregon Cultural Trust, for an overview of what an Arts and Cultural District is and their economic impact.  This presentation will take place at the Ten Fifteen Theater, located at 1015 Commercial from 11am to 1pm on Thursday March 2nd.  All are welcome, and we hope you'll join us for OCT's Conversation with Funders meeting shortly after from 2:30-5:30pm in The Loft at the Red Building, 20 Basin St. in Astoria. 🎭🎨🩰

Love Your Streets May 6th- Volunteers Needed
With last week's snow it is hard to believe that we are more than 1/2 way to Spring!  Love Your Streets is wonderful way to spruce up downtown while getting your hands dirty.  Join us Saturday May 6th from 9am to noon by signing up to volunteer here and show some love for downtown!🌼
SBDC Start-Up Boot Camp & HR Essentials Class
The Start-Up Boot Camp will help you develop your business plan and prepare for a successful launch! The Clatsop SBDC has assembled a thorough 5-session course covering everything you need to know to successfully refine your business concept and create a solid working plan.  To find out more and register head right this way! 🗸🗸🗸
Human Resources Essentials
Are you a business owner, manager, or HR professional looking to strengthen your understanding of human resources?  If so, register for Clatsop Community College's HR Essentials series to gain insights into best practices across critical areas including hiring & training, employee relations, employee law, and performance management.
