Financing for Energy Efficiency Projects

Loan programs offer affordable options to help California businesses shrink their energy bill and carbon footprint.

Finance Expensive Energy Efficiency Projects

These loans cover a wide variety of energy-efficiency projects. The loan is paid back based on projected energy savings, via the customer’s monthly utility bill. More info:

Every Day is Earth Day: Energy Tips!

Caring about the Earth doesn't have to be limited to one day in April, it can be every day, especially this holiday season!

Make Every Day Earth Day - Be Energy Efficient
This holiday season we're finding ways to slash our energy use at home, in the office, and all-around our communities. Now that the sun goes down earlier in the day, let's do everything we can to save energy!
As we settle in this fall, here are some easy tips to keep your festivities green by saving energy and money in your home and business every day of the year!

1. Install and set a programmable thermostat.
Save 10% every year on heating (and cooling) by using a programmable thermostat 365 days of the year.

2. Buy ENERGY STAR appliances when searching for replacements.
Energy Star appliances go beyond basic requirements for energy efficiency and guarantee your appliance will operate as efficiently as possible.

3. Use a power strip for your electrical appliances.
Help reduce phantom energy and save up to $100 a year -- plug your devices and holiday lights into a power strip and turn it off when not in use. Easier than unplugging each power outlet!

4. Choose energy-efficient lighting.
Switching from inefficient halogen and incandescent lights to LEDs can save you 70-90% on lighting-related energy costs.

Small Business Saturday!

Small Business Saturday is Right Around the Corner!

In anticipation of Small Business Saturday (November 30, 2019), the California Green Business Network and Energy Upgrade California are producing a series of custom marketing materials to encourage your community to #ShopSmall and #ShopGreen at Green Businesses.

As consumers move towards socially and environmentally conscious shopping, we want to make sure they know their local businesses have the same values. These marketing materials will bring attention to certified Green Businesses that help make our communities vibrant and more sustainable.

While shopping is the main focus of this holiday, it is not a necessary component. If you want to celebrate this day another way, help us promote the Green Business Program on social media and grow our collective impact!

Five Spots Left! Small Business Saturday Energy Efficiency Pledge with Energy Upgrade California (EUC)!
Help get the word out about energy efficiency this Small Business Saturday! Share palm cards and fact sheets at your business. Encourage customers to sign the EUC pledge and post a small flyer with details. Your customers might appreciate the chance to win a Nest smart thermostat or solar charger! The educational campaign is limited to the first 12 respondents.
