Mission Impact, Leadership and Membership through a DEI Lens

A DEI lens is a way of examining a program, a process, and/or a product, with regard to how it is perceived by a variety of communities, voices, and perspectives, and what, if any, barriers may exist that are preventing it from being equitable or inclusive of everyone.

There are many questions to ask when examining League work through a DEI lens, but the first step is to understand ourselves.  During the last three months, we have explored common DEI terms, how to think about DEI from an individual perspective and finally how to identify barriers to equitable and inclusive participation.

Our next discussion will focus on looking at our mission, leadership, and membership through a DEI lens.  However, it is important that we continue to ask the basic question of purpose.  Please follow this link to a TED Talk by Stacey Abrams and be prepared to discuss how we move forward after the 2020 election.
