You're almost there! It might not seem like it because of the final assignment, essays and exams you might have left but you are coming to the end of a very strange year. This time of term can be stressful so let's talk about some of the ways you can manage it.

Changing your perceptions of stress. Research suggests that stress may only be bad for you if you believe that to be the case. Psychologist Kelly McGonigal urges us to see stress as a positive and introduces us to an unsung mechanism for stress reduction: reaching out to others.
Procrastinating? 
If you are having a hard time getting a project started, try getting the ball rolling by giving yourself permission to do it badly. It sounds counterintuitive but this can take the pressure off, speeding up your decision-making process and letting you get into action.

This will not only make it much easier to begin, but you’ll also find that you’re completing tasks much more quickly than before. More often than not, you’ll also discover that you’re not doing it that badly after all – even if you are, you can always edit it afterwards.

Using “do it badly” as a motto gives you the courage to try new things, adds a little fun to everything, and stops you worrying too much about the outcome. It’s about doing it badly today and improving as you go. Ultimately, it’s about liberation.

Make time for exercise. 
As you get busier with deadlines and studying, exercise might move further and further down your to-do list but physical activity is an effective strategy to manage stress.  Studies show that it is very effective at reducing fatigue, improving alertness and concentration, and at enhancing overall cognitive function. This can be especially helpful when stress has depleted your energy or ability to concentrate. If you feel like you schedule doesn’t allow for a exercise, try squeezing this 7-minute workout into your daily plan.
