YouTube Sunday 10 July 2022
Please pray for Julie Smith who gives the talk this morning.  Our theme is 'People at Prayer' & today we are looking at Solomon's Prayer for Wisdom & Dedication of the Temple. The Bible reading is 1 Kings 3:7-9 & 1 Kings 8:22-53.

We pray for Jenny Dunn and her pastoral group: Thelma Widdowson, Julie Rollinson, Shirley Haigh, Jenny & Tony Reavill and Sandra & David Brown Snr.
We ask God's healing for Mollie Brumfitt, Helen Collins, Alice Hill, Kate Lomas, the Marsden family, Edna Morrell, Marylyn Whelan & Dennis Yeadon.
Liz Keogh would like to thank everyone at church for their kind thoughts, prayers and cards following the loss of her mum, Anne Samuel.  The support which everyone has given , especially over the last couple of years, has been very much appreciated.

Covid:  We are continuing to monitor the latest Covid figures and the Trustees will discuss these next week.  In the meantime we will keep the doors open during the services to maintain the airflow and ask everyone to allow those who wish to wear masks to sit at the back of church if they wish to do so.  There is always plenty of space at the front for everyone else!
Prayer requests can be submitted via email to the church office at

Just a reminder that next week (12th) we have a Zoom session focusing on Children and Families ministry (post pandemic).  This is an area which I know many of us are deeply concerned about going forward.
Liz Morton and Jo Young from the Children, Young People and Families Team at the Diocese will be helping us to focus our thoughts and think through the next steps in this area.

The session is via Zoom on Tuesday 12th July and will start at 7.15pm. We will be finished by 8.45pm at the latest.

Anyone at The Eldwick Church who is interested in this area of ministry is invited to join in.
Click HERE for the link for the meeting. Meeting ID: 819 3886 8688
Passcode: 613116

Members from St Paul's, Christ Church & St James Silsden will be joining us.

There is no need for folk to reply - just join if you wish to.
Grace & Peace
I have changed the Prayer Tree to the Summer Season (Hurrah!).  Please write your prayers of penitence or thanks on a card from the box and peg it on the prayer tree.  Many thanks.

Anne and Alan Brown are joining the 2022 Morecombe Bay walk to raise money for the charity Prevent Breast Cancer.  Eight wet and muddy miles across Morecombe Bay (with a guide!)

If you would like to make a contribution, we would be very grateful.  You can either give online via the Justgiving website, using the link:

or give some money to Alan or Anne and we will add it to the funds.  Thank you
Many thanks to everyone who came to the recent Eldwick Church Fellowship coffee evening.  We have been able to send £312 to Action for Children as a result of this.

We have also been able to send £500 to Holme Wood for their food bank.  This was from donations in the last three months, topped up from the mission budget.

And last, but not least, we have sent £250 to Water Aid.  This was from donations for Sunday coffee again topped up from the mission budget.
Coffee money for the next three months will be for Christians Against Poverty who are finding that there is increased demand for their services helping people navigate their way through debt problems.
Bookings Administrator required
The Trustees, in their support for Julie Smith as she becomes more involved in training for lay ministry, are seeking to reduce her hours by appointing someone else to the role of Bookings Administrator for the Church buildings.  This is a paid role for 1 - 2 hours per week.

Contact Sharron Arnold at for a copy of the job description. Closing date for applications is Tuesday 12 July.

The next Church Trustee meeting takes place on Wednesday 13 July.  If anyone has an item which they wish to be discussed, please send it to the office by Friday 8 July.  Alternatively, have a chat to one of the Trustees:  Margaret Hartley, James Huntington, Sue Huntington, Gill Jowett, Monique Lees, Carleen Richardson and Rev'ds Brian Greenfield & Terry Keen.

A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Rev Elizabeth Clark will be held at Silsden Methodist Church, BD20 0PA on 18th July at 2pm.

Rural matters were important to Elizabeth, and she also had a great sense of humour. The family believe that Elizabeth would prefer those attending the Service of Thanksgiving not to wear black, and invite the congregation to wear an item that celebrates rural life (eg sheep earrings, wellies, shepherds crook etc - feel free to be creative).

Family flowers only. Donations (care of Jacksons of Silsden) to be shared by Farming Community Network and the Addington Fund

The service will be live-streamed and available on Youtube. Click here for the link: Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Elizabeth Clark
