Sunday services, Café & Covid

The Church Trustees, including Rev's Brian Greenfield and Terry Keen met on Tuesday 4 January to review how we run services this month. This was in light of the very high rates of Covid both generally and in our community.

We will continue with services in Church.  However, the Trustees strongly encourage those who are able to watch at home to do so in order to keep yourself, and others safe.

Singing will be suspended and seating will be spread out more.  If you cannot access the online services, please do not arrive prior to 10.20, when the Church will be opened.

The service on the 9th January will be Morning Worship NOT Holy Communion.  The service on 23rd January will NOT be a Covenant service & this will be rescheduled, hopefully in February.

Please also note, that due to Covid, Café has currently been suspended - i.e. no Café on Tuesday 11th Jan and Thursday 13th Jan.  Please spread the word to anyone you know who would not be on the church mailing list.

The Trustees will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
Mission Giving
Thank you to everyone for their generosity over the last few months.  As a result of the Christian aid envelopes, the Light Up nativity and the invitation to donate winter fuel allowances, as well as the regular giving from some and the use of our mission budget we have been able to make the following donations:
  • Holme Wood £2,000
  • Christian Aid £500
  • Children’s Society £125
  • Action for Children £125.  This is on top of the £530 given to Action for Children following the coffee morning in December.
Message from Rev Barbara Walls re the Bingley Foodbank which is one of the causes which we support:

"I have just been updating the database for the new year and thought you may be interested to know we had 343 visits during 2021 and fed 992 people (and few cats and dogs!)  That is a total of 2766 meals based on a 3-day bag."

Spare winter coats

Sharron Arnold asks, "Has anyone got spare winter coats for teenagers please?  There are students at my school currently without coats, which at this time of year is awful.  If anyone has a coat that would be suitable for boys or girls can they either bring it to our house or leave it at church for me to collect.  I am going to school on 17 January."

Wanted: Homes for spare Christmas Trees!

Do you have spare space to store a couple of Church Christmas trees?  We still have a few left over from Light Up Nativity.  There is no suitable storage space in our buildings & we would like to 'bank' some for future use.

Please contact Julie Smith or Sue Huntington.  Thanks.
