Covid Restrictions
In the light of the government announcement extending Covid restrictions, the trustees have decided to delay the easing of seating limits in Church until further notice. The current pattern of two groups attending alternate weeks will therefore continue for this week. The trustees meet on Wednesday 14 July and an update will follow after this.
JMA Donations
Susan Robinson has asked that all donations be sent directly to the church bank account, marked as JMA, or by cheque to Sharron Arnold (cheque made payable to The Eldwick Church with a note to say what it is for) rather than giving her cash from your collection boxes.  It is increasingly difficult to get banks to accept coins.  Please make any donations you wish to make by 31 July.  Thank you.
The Prayer Tree is now in church and we invite you to put your prayer requests/petitions on the outreaching branches.  We plan to remove the requests and include them in intercessions at our service on September 5th.
The Mission Giving Group has met and decided to make the following donations from our mission budget:
  • £300 to Bingley Community Kitchen
  • £300 to Christian African Relief Trust ("CART")
  • £300 to Kathryn Mercy Home the charity which we support through regular donations which supports both young girls and old ladies in India
  • £300 to The Cellar Trust a mental health charity based in Shipley
We are keeping a further £300 back in case there is an emergency appeal later in the year.  We (Rowena, Dorothy, Carleen and Sharron) also expect to meet before December to decide on any additional contributions we are able to make once we know how much our final budget for 2021 will be.  If you would like a specific charity to be considered then, please let us know.

Celebrating communion together has been deeply missed by many people during the pandemic.
We are hoping to gradually return to holding regular communion services as part of our worship in the near future, being mindful of safe practices. This has been agreed by the trustees.
Providing government restrictions do not prevent it, the plan is as follows:

1st August             9.15  Informal communion service
5th September     9.15  Informal communion service
19th September   10.30  Family communion
3rd October          9.15  Informal communion service
17th October        10.30  Family communion

These will be alternately led by Methodist and Anglican ministers. (We do not plan to use the BCP Anglican communion service at the moment, rather we will use a more up to date and accessible form of service).
Eldwick Gala
The Gala has been re-arranged for Saturday 14 August.  We would like to offer the church premises as a café but need a bit of help.   The initial plan is to offer refreshments, cakes and scones on the lawn as well as in the church & the Link.
Please can you have a think and sign up for a slot either helping in the kitchen, serving, washing up, taking money or baking a cake/ scones etc. A sign-up sheet is now available.  Alternatively, contact Susan Rishworth or Julie Smith.
The Link Café is now operating indoors.  Opening times are 9.30 am - 12.00 noon on Tuesdays for drinks, home-made scones & cake and 10.00 am - 1.30 pm on Thursdays, which includes light lunches from 11.30 am.
Friday Night Bible Takeaway continues at 7.00 pm each week.
