Voter Registration at Buchanan High School
During our annual trip to Buchanan High, LWVF will register and pre-register about 700 senior students to vote.  Who’s registering voters at your neighborhood high school?  Give Sue Goldman or Liz Shields a call to set up a registration event at a high school or college that you have a connection to.

LWVF Board of Directors Monthly Meeting
You are welcome to attend the League’s regular monthly Board meeting at 5 pm, in the League office at Stone Soup Community Center.  

Tuesday, Oct 2

CA Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Sierra Club, et al v. County of Fresno (Friant Ranch LLC)
Tune in to the court’s website at 9 AM to livestream the final step in this 7-year battle to force the County of Fresno to clarify and address the environmental impacts of the proposed 942-unit Friant Ranch project. LWVF member, Sara Hedgpeth-Harris, will co-present the arguments.

LWVF Ballot Measures presentations at DWIA, San Joaquin Gardens, Arbor Court Apartments Democratic Women In Action,  and residents of San Joaquin Gardens and Arbor Court Apartments will get the skinny on the 11 statewide ballot measures this week.  Are you a member of a group that might benefit from a similar informative presentation?  Contact Sue Goldman or Liz Shields to schedule.
League Yard Signs Available!
Spread the word that your vote matters!  For just a $10 donation, a yard sign will be delivered to you, your place of worship, your favorite  coffee shop or anywhere else where voters will pass by.  Order by leaving a message on the League phone: (559)226-VOTE or contact any Board member.

Voter's Edge Volunteers Needed
Did you know that LWV Fresno is responsible for gathering and uploading information about local candidates to Voter's Edge?  League member, Jacquie Canfield, our County Coordinator, reports that only a few candidates have submitted their requested information. She needs help contacting candidates by phone, searching their websites, and updating this invaluable service to voters statewide.  Contact her at:

Measure P Volunteers Needed
Assistance is needed to support the passage of Measure P.  Canvassers, phone bankers and postcard writers are needed. LWVF helped put this measure on the ballot.  Now let's get it passed!  Contact (League member) Cathy Caples,or sign up here:
