Get ready to save some energy

More than 30 local authorities and their employees were part of the 2019 energy-saving competition. Throughout the year, staff from over 100 buildings worked together to organise the most creative and inspiring campaign promoting transformation in energy-use behaviour.

C4S supported the competition with training, campaign materials, an online tool for monitoring energy use, energy saving tips and advice on campaigning and creating behavioural change.

The campaign materials, including a starter pack and comprehensive Energy Saving Competition handbook, visual and technical materials, and information on the competition methodology of the competitions are now available online in English and in participants' national languages.

Trainer-to-trainer session held in Murcia

Compete4SECAP’s fifth peer-to-peer training session took place in November 2019 in the city of Murcia (Spain) where project partner Eurovertice is based. This session continued the focus on climate adaptation already begun in Bordeaux in 2018 and expanded on in Budapest earlier in 2019. This session focused in particular on the baseline analysis, i.e. Risk and Vulnerability Assessment, evaluating both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The overall objective of the P2P session was to help partners (and one guest from the municipality of Aguilas in Spain) to upgrade their SEAPs to SECAPs, including new mitigation and adaptation targets for 2030.
